This week On The Record, Host Randy Beamer talks with San Antonio Police Officer’s Association President Danny Diaz about the proposed charter amendment going on the May ballot from the group ACT4SA.  Diaz discusses why they are opposed, why he says passage of the amendment will increase crime, and why some items on it won’t stand up to state and federal laws.

Next, District 2 Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez explains why he is in support of the proposed charter amendment from ACT4SA.  McKee-Rodriguez discusses why some of the key items on the amendment need to be codified, and how he says that will benefit the city.

New Interim President of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, David Peterson, joins us to talk about stepping into the top role at the city’s largest business group.  He shares why they are working on new branding, and their upcoming trips to D.C. and Austin to promote San Antonio businesses.

On Reporter’s Roundtable, Heywood Sanders, freelance writer for the SA Current and UTSA Public Policy Professor discusses his recent article on why incentives for downtown development haven’t panned out and why the city needs to reconsider these offers.
