A proposed shuttle between San Antonio and Austin

Diane Rath, Executive Director of AACOG, explains a proposed shuttle between Austin and San Antonio

This week On The Record, host Randy Beamer gets the details on the proposed bus shuttle between Austin and San Antonio- designed to make it easy to get to and from the state capital.  The Executive Director of Alamo Area Council of Governments, Diane Rath, explains how it will work.

Next, find out why the Conservation Society of San Antonio is speaking out against plans for a wall and lunette at Alamo Plaza.  Conservation Society President Kathy Rhoads shares their concerns.

A planned development just outside of Helotes is being fought by residents, and one of their main concerns is that the developer, Lennar Homes, plans to send a million gallons a day of “treated” wastewater into a nearby creek that also feeds into the Edwards Aquifer.  Hydrologist Ron Green did a survey showing how bad this would be for the environment, and as he explains to Randy, it has to do with excess nitrogen that will be in the treated affluent.

On Reporter’s Roundtable, SA Express-News columnist Chris Tomlinson talks about his new column on why the state of Texas has excess power from renewable energy available in the western part of the state, but not in the eastern part of Texas.  Hint:  It has to do with oil/gas companies and transmission lines.
