District 3 Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran said the installation of Wi-Fi at Harlandale Park, as part on a Smart City initiative implemented this year by City Council, helps connect communities.
Parks are a popular place where people gather to celebrate, she said. Providing access to Wi-Fi allows South Side residents to connect in new ways.
Half of the city's 10 parks now have access to Wi-Fi. Viagran said. The number is expected to grow.
