City looking to expand downtown historic areas

Email share

Downtown San Antonio has always been a place where history was made. Now there’s a proposal to make it official.

The city’s Office of Historic Preservation is proposing a Downtown National Register District that would ensure the preservation of more than 140 buildings while making tax credits available.

The newly formed district would bridge gaps between Main/Military Plaza, Alamo Plaza and La Villita National Register Districts.

The next public meeting is set for:

Tuesday, Nov. 10
4-5 p.m.
1901 S. Alamo, 2nd Floor training rooms
