TED Talks: Education Revolution

Why is teaching grit and character so important? What will schools and education look like in the future? On Wed., Aug. 10, we'll present a special screening event of TED Talks: Education Revolution, examining some of the latest innovations and thinking in education with some of the brightest minds in the country. Topics covered in the screening include how we can control our ability to learn, the education gap, restorative justice for youth, the effects of hunger on kids, bullying, mentoring and just how we keep kids on track to build a better future. After the screening, we'll hear from our local panel led by KLRN Board Member, Brandon Logan, and featuring State Rep. Diego Bernal and Maker Space expert Mark Barnett. The Playhouse San Antonio is graciously hosting this event. RSVP is required.

KLRN's Robert L.B. Tobin Studio will be transformed into a land of bones and dino tracks as we welcome the exhibit Dinosaur George: Museum In The Classroom. This traveling, educational exhibit features engaging displays, artifacts, and information all about prehistoric life. And be sure to check out the complete curriculum created to extend the fun.
